I voted for Pieces of Moon. It does sound like a better title, especially when you make Untelling the Maya sound like a textbook in your poll.
The leave me alone option cracked me up! I do like both of those titles, but I have a fascination with the moon... I think I might be biased. Hehe!
Oooh I love anything involving the sun, moon, nature etc. :)
Untelling the Maya is cool and it may give more insight into the actual story (from what little I know about it), but I voted for Pieces of Moon. It just has a ring to it.
You know which one I voted for. I think by the percentages you might have a winner there.
Hmm, interesting. I like Pieces of the Moon, very poetic. That said, I also like Untelling the Maya. I didn't get a history text book feel with that title. It's an equally intriguing title. So yeah, I'm basically being totally unhelpful. :) But both really are good!
Pieces of Moon--will sell more, from a marketing perspective. So I voted for that one, but I love both. Jenni
Pieces of Moon is pretty intriguing, I think.
I'm with Renee, I can't pick and am extremely unhelpful. I think they both sound cool. I hope that is a frustrating answer. Mua ha ha.
I love Pieces of Moon!!!
Hmmmm....I find the moon pretty intriguing and the title would be easy to remember. Still, "Untelling the Maya" is different and somewhat mysterious. Any particular reason behind the change?
Only that (like Jenni said) Pieces of Moon seemed marketable. And when my brother told me my original title sounded nonfiction, I thought he might have a point.
Agreed, Pieces of Moon gives the perspective reader something tangible right off the bat. I voted for that one.
I'm not sure that I know enough about your novel to say whether either title is appropriate, but the Maya one does sound like it's a history non-fiction.As for the moon title, the first thing that comes to mind is the Twilight saga, because of the new moon thing...
I thougth that, too, but I figured by the time my book would be (fingers crossed) published, New Moon won't be on the mind so much.
Lulu Titlescorer (lulu.com)gives "Untelling the Maya" a 55.4% chance of being a bestselling title. It gives "Pieces of Moon" a 26.3% chance. How's that for objective?
