The Magic Number 50

I now have 50 followers! I've been blogging several months, and in September joined the following bandwagon. 50 is a nice round number. It makes me happy.

I just jumped on the scale. I've gained exactly 50 pounds during this pregnancy. (This 50 is also very nice and round, and does NOT make me happy! Of course, what did I eat last night after New Moon? CHOCOLATE. What did I eat at a wedding reception tonight? MORE CHOCOLATE! Will I ever squeeze back into my skinny jeans?)

It is exactly 50 degrees outside. Really, I just checked weather.com.

Not usually one to see signs in my life, I will just take it for what it is. 50 is trying to tell me something, and I know what that something is. So yes, I will work harder to write 50 pages of GOOD WORDS and SOLID STORY before this baby hatches.

  1. You can do it! Unless the baby is due tomorrow and then I'm not sure...

Yay for 50 followers, I hit that last week too!

  2. Jade-If the baby comes precisely on her due date, my goal is doable. If she comes early, not so doable.

Jessica-No kidding. My skinny jeans are size 4. I miss them. I'll hold off on the chocolate.

  3. What a fun goal! Good luck with it. Is it wrong that I'm jealous you CAN gain weight? I had gestational diabetes for both my babes, and was on a strict diet. Chocolate was not included.

  5. Looks like 50 is your lucky number. I'm sure you'll be back in those size four's by Christmas.

  6. Natalie-Gestational diabetes? That's too bad. But at least you can make up for it in between babies with lots of chocolate.

Anissa-I have been alert all day for more number 50's.

Patti-I wish it worked that fast. Nursing my first baby helped me shed those baby pounds. Hopefully it happens again.

  7. Congratulations on the 50 followers. I crossed over 50 followers last week, so I'm super excited. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well. I had my third child last year, and I'm still trying to lose the weight.

  8. Paul-Thanks!

Melane-You are supposed to tell me you had your third child last year and the baby weight melted off like butter (like chocolate?)

  9. Fifty's your lucky number these days. I think that mean you will definitely reach your fifty page goal!

  10. Candice-I better.

Renee-Yes, from scratch. There is maybe one scene I will re-use from my rough draft. I couldn't rewrite this draft without having that rough draft as a sort of guideline for what works and what doesn't. It is definitely serving its purpose.

  16. 50 Followers!!! That's awesome. I just added that widget a couple weeks ago. I didn't even realize it was there. I'd be happy to even have 20! And good luck on your pages. You'll get there! :)

  17. Strange coincidence of "50" in your life. My number lately has been an even 6. There are 6 people in my family, 6 chocolate chip muffins sitting in my kitchen cupboard, and 6 other people in my grown up family that I adore.

    Congrats on the 50!

  18. WW-50 pounds in 50 days?! Ha, that would be great. Did you know that when I clicked on your name, it directed me to a tramadol ad and no profile?

Kelli-Maybe I haven't followed you yet. I'll go follow you, and then you can be closer to 20.

Terresa-Then you only have to write 6 pages.
