Let it Snush!

This morning my son came into my room and said, "Look, Mom, there is snow on the ground!"

Our first snow...well, more like our first slush. It's gone now. Anyway, I love cold days when you can stay in, eat and drink warm things, snuggle with your kids and with a good story idea.

We got up and had hot oatmeal with maple syrup and brown sugar. Then we went to a doctor's appointment. Even with our first snush, life goes on I guess.

  1. the first snow is always so nice...before it gets brown and nasty. The weather here has been super nice, but then again NC doesn't get much snow.

  2. Awww, what a sweet post. I really wish we had some snush here. LOL And yeah, life goes on.

  3. It's been between fifteen and twenty below the last couple of days. Great writing weather! I don't think we'll see slush for several months.

  4. Snush - I learned a new word! I may have to use it sometime, if we ever get any snush around here. :)

  5. I'm so excited for the first snow here. Not because I want to deal with it, but because my son has never seen it snow before. I can't wait to see his reaction.

  6. I'm hoping we get some snow this year, because last year was just disappointing. Oatmeal sounds yummy right now...

  7. I have to say even though I live in Canada I could go without snow. I hate driving to work in it and it makes me cold. The only day I like it is Christmas Day and only if it snows all night and leaves the roads clear by morning.

On the plus side, I get more done on cold days because I don't want to go outside.

  8. I like the cold too. It gives me an excuse to stay inside. In the summer I'm accused of being a hermit, but in the winter I'm just being cozy. :)

  9. Lois-Oh yes, I hate the brown and nasty (and gray) part of winter. It's hard to get excited about cold when it's ugly cold.

Jessica-Snush in Florida? I'll see if I can send some your way.

Paul-Yes, you and your perfect Alaskan landscape. Didn't I read on your blog that you bike in this weather?

Heidi-I think we've said good-bye to the last of the 70 degree weather until Spring. I hope your daughter gets her snow soon.

Susan-Ha! Yes, I'm sure your corner of the city saw the same thing.

Kelli-Aren't you from the south? I'll see if I can send you some snush, too.

Candice-I'm sure Ohio will get its share. My sister-in-law from Texas if very excited to show her son snow when they visit this winter.

Beth-Not just any oatmeal, mind you. Oatmeal with brown sugar and maple syrup.

Patti-If the snow is bad and you have to go outside, I agree, it's not pretty. And really, come January and February a snowfall won't be as welcome as it is now.

Kasie-I stay inside way more than I need to, also, even when the weather is nice. See, we have so much in common.

  10. I love snow and slush too--when I can stay home. LOL!
    Pretty picture!
